Matt Scroggs

Owner/General Contractor

An Asheville Native, Matt graduated from Reynolds High School and attended Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College where he received an Associate Degree in Computer Programming specializing in business applications. He spent five years as a DP manager at a local bank while serving as a volunteer Fire Fighter in Buncombe County where he quickly realized that community service was his passion and made fire fighting his full time career.  The immense amount of training required in the structural components of buildings sparked his interest in construction and he started his first construction business WinSide, a windows and siding installation and showroom, in 1990.   He has since retired from firefighting after 25 years of service and owned and operated several Remodeling and General Contracting Businesses throughout the Asheville area after obtaining his General Contractors License in 2007.

Ben Morrison

Estimator

By way of Charlottesville, VA, Ben has been in construction in Asheville since 2007 building new construction homes, remodeling, additions, and fine finish work. 

Ben holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina, an Associates degree in Construction Management from A-B Tech here in Asheville, and is currently seeking a Masters degree in Construction Management from Western Carolina University. 

Outside of the office, Ben enjoys cycling, hiking the back country, and enjoying the Asheville fare typically with his 6 year old by his side.  

If you happen to make an appointment with Scroggs Construction Services, most likely Ben and a few other sales members will happily introduce themselves to you when they arrive at your door.  Chances are, you will make some new friends while having your construction dreams built into reality.

Jack Sorrentino

Project Supervisor

Jack Sorrentino is a third-generation carpenter-contractor.  A native of New Jersey, he started working full time with his father, uncle, and brother as a carpenter after graduating from Toms River High School South.  His scope of work included fire casualty restoration, second story additions, new homes and all phases of residential home construction. After his father and uncle retired, Jack and brother Mark took over the family business. With a love of the mountains, hiking, and the outdoors Jack and his wife Chris came to the Asheville area on vacation several times and decided to move to this beautiful part of the world in 1993 with their son Jonathan. After working for a couple of general contractors in the area as a lead carpenter, Jack started his own successful kitchen and bath remodeling business from 2003-current specializing in custom tile installations.  Jack met Matt while bowling with a mutual friend in 2010, became good friends and decided to hang up the tool belt and become a project supervisor for Scroggs Construction Services in 2017.  Jack loves Beer! And smoky meats!

Nick Scroggs

Owner/Director of Business and Operations

A founding member of Scroggs Construction Services and son of General Contractor Matt Scroggs, Nick's responsibilities include developing and maintaining customer relationships as well as making sure all aspects of the construction process run smoothly through efficient project management practices. An Asheville native, he spent the last several years at a leasing and property management company in the greater Chicagoland area.  While in Chicago he earned his BS in Business Administration and Human Resources from Roosevelt University of Chicago as well as a Masters of Business Administration and Finance from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois.  In his spare time, he enjoys exploring Downtown Asheville and being a part of the local home brewing scene.

Ileya Bowery

Design Work and Servicing

Ileya Bowery has grown up in the Black Mountain and Swannanoa communities. She graduated from Owen High School and attended Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. She has received her Computer-Aided Drafting Certificate, Architectural Drafting Certificate, and graduated with her Computer-Aided Drafting and Design Degree in May 2017. Outside of work and school, she spends time with her family and friends while enjoying the beautiful seasons the Blue Ridge Mountains have to offer.

Carrie Oliver

Office Administrator

In 2001, with her two daughters in tote, Carrie came to the mountains seeking an eclectic community of inspiring people with an outrageously gorgeous environment. She spent many years in the business industry and is currently near the end of her journey to acquire a Bachelor’s of Business in Management and Leadership. Carrie started as a file clerk at Jafra Cosmetics in California after high school and continued to move through all phases of general office processes in a variety of companies emphasizing in customer service and office management. Her favorite memory is when she worked at Sears & Roebuck Company in North Hollywood. While answering the phone, she heard Marlon Brando’s voice on the other end of the line and his wispy voice made her day!  When she’s not in the office,  Carrie loves cooking with family and friends while enjoying their company with a nice glass of wine!
