Best Home Addition

“West Asheville Kitchen Addition”

Just off Brevard road, this West Asheville beauty was yet another example of the segmented building practices of the 1950’s.  These clients worked with our team to design and create a “phase one” addition that would take the place of a dated screened in porch area and add vital space to their upstairs floorplan.  To open the space, we started by removing an interior wall separating the existing kitchen and dining areas from the living room.  We then removed the “Screened in Porch” and utilized its foundation to add an additional 200+ square feet to the kitchen area.   From there, we matched the wood flooring with meticulously woven, new hardwood flooring to create a cohesive flow from dining, living, and kitchen areas.  To finish it off, we added custom built cabinets, granite counter tops, subway tile backsplash, and a custom lighting design to accentuate the island/bar design.  On the exterior of the home, we removed all the old Masonite siding and replaced it with Hardie Plank siding, removed and replaced all of the existing windows, added a new roof to the existing home and addition, and repainted.

Best Room Remodel

“Fairview Attic Escape”

The client for this Fairview attic renovation had an adventurous idea for a small space.  With less than 380 sqft., she wanted a bathroom, open area for sleeping/lounging, and desk space all while keeping an open concept allowing for as much natural light as possible.  Our team worked diligently with her to design and bring to life a gorgeous, functional space to meet all those needs.

The bathroom features long tile hardwood replica floors and an artfully crafted custom walk in shower with skylight to illuminate the only partitioned room.  The living space boasts custom lighting features to accommodate the new walls, lush new carpeting, and a custom paint job.  In addition, we added a remote controlled mini-split HVAC unit for worry free temperature control of a type of space that is typically affected by harsh weather conditions.  To finish it off, we added a custom built in-wall shelf feature in headspace above the stairs, installed beautiful stain grade trim and doors, and created custom “kitty steps” for her furry friends.
